HEARTATLAS · COMPLETE GUIDE

How to use HeartAtlas

Explore HeartAtlas features following the same logic as the site navigation and your Account area.

01

Discover and suggested profiles

Browse profiles with Discover and find suggested profiles through the features currently available in HeartAtlas.

02

Find the right people with 4 search modes

HeartAtlas offers four complementary ways to discover members. Choose the one that best matches what you are looking for: each mode uses different criteria and you can switch at any time.

Find the right people with 4 search modes

HeartAtlas offers four complementary ways to discover members. Choose the one that best matches what you are looking for: each mode uses different criteria and you can switch at any time.

General search

The most versatile mode. Browse profiles using standard HeartAtlas criteria such as age, gender, language, country or city. It is ideal when you have a general idea of the kind of person you would like to meet.

Near me

This mode prioritizes members close to your location. It is useful when you want to meet people in your area or find members with whom an in-person meeting would be easier to arrange.

Compatriots & expats

Designed for connections across borders, this mode helps you find compatriots in your current country or abroad and members who share a familiar origin or international experience.

Appearance search

Choose exactly which physical characteristics matter to your search. Enable only the criteria you want: age, gender, country, height, weight, eye color or hair color. For age, height and weight you can set minimum and maximum values. An unchecked criterion does not filter results.

Physical characteristics are optional in profiles. When an appearance criterion is enabled, only profiles with compatible information can match it.
03

Messages, translation and calls

Chat privately, use available translation and audio or video calls according to your access, settings and safety rules.

+1 GB, +3 GB and +5 GB storage add-ons are added to the storage included with your plan.

7 days to view received media

Media that has been received but never viewed remains available for 7 days. Once viewed, it becomes part of your received-media storage. If it is still unviewed after 7 days, the file is automatically deleted to avoid unnecessary storage.

Media deleted after 7 days without being viewed

Media optimized for your storage

HeartAtlas automatically optimizes compatible images and videos before storage to reduce their size while preserving good visual quality. This helps you make the most of your storage allowance without having to compress your media yourself.

The stated sizes and storage allowances apply to media after optimization by HeartAtlas.

06

Favorites, friends and blocked members

Favorites are your personal selection. Two members become friends when each has favorited the other. Removing a favorite ends that mutual relationship. Blocked members remain a separate list.

07

Speed Dating

Join scheduled Speed Dating sessions under the conditions shown for each session. Waiting room, encounters, transitions and results form a journey separate from Activities.

HEARTATLAS VIRTUAL SPEED DATING

Discover a different way to Speed Date

HeartAtlas Speed Dating brings the idea of rapid dating online: several short, private conversations in succession during one scheduled session. The goal is not to decide within minutes whether someone is “the one”, but to discover a voice, personality and way of communicating and to see whether you would like the conversation to continue.

The concept

Each session brings several members together for a series of timed one-to-one encounters. HeartAtlas automatically organises rotations so that participants can have several first conversations in a shared, structured and respectful setting.

The objective

To create a more human first contact than simply browsing profiles. A few minutes can reveal someone's energy, communication style or mutual curiosity. Speed Dating promises neither compatibility nor a relationship: it simply creates an opportunity to meet.

Who organises the sessions?

Members cannot create Speed Dating sessions themselves. Dates, times, criteria, capacity and session settings are scheduled exclusively by HeartAtlas teams to preserve group consistency and smooth rotations.

Who can participate?

  • Be signed in to a HeartAtlas account eligible for Speed Dating and have the required Premium access.
  • Have an active profile with gender and date of birth completed.
  • Be an adult and fall within the age range defined for the selected session.
  • Have an approved, visible primary profile photo.
  • Select at least one category of people you wish to meet.
  • For language or regional sessions, meet the stated language or country criteria.
  • Have no temporary Speed Dating participation restriction.

📝 Registration and waiting list

  • Registration is only possible during the registration window shown for the session.
  • Each session has a maximum capacity. If it is reached, a waiting list may be available when enabled by HeartAtlas.
  • When a place becomes available, a member on the waiting list may be promoted automatically.
  • Always check the date, time and time zone before confirming your registration.

Group balance and optional gender quotas

Some sessions may use minimum gender quotas to create a group that is sufficiently balanced for the rotations. These quotas are optional and are set by HeartAtlas for each session. They never guarantee that you will meet a precise number of women, men or non-binary people, nor do they guarantee compatibility. If the minimum conditions for a session are not met, HeartAtlas may postpone or cancel it.

Registration is a commitment

Registering and then not attending can deprive someone else of a place, leave another participant without a partner for a round and disrupt the whole session. Please honour a confirmed registration or cancel early enough whenever cancellation is still possible.

HeartAtlas may record confirmed no-shows and certain early departures. Repeated incidents can lead to warnings and temporary restrictions from Speed Dating.

🎧 Before the session starts

  • Join the waiting room early enough and complete check-in when available.
  • Lobby opening, normal check-in closure and any late-arrival tolerance are configured for each session.
  • An accepted late participant is never inserted into an encounter already in progress; they may join a later rotation.
  • Check your Internet connection and browser permissions for microphone and, when required, camera.
  • Depending on the session, video may be required, enabled or disabled. The technical requirements shown for that session take priority.

How does a session work?

1

Waiting room

Join the session space before it begins, confirm your presence and wait for the group to be confirmed.

2

Confirmation

HeartAtlas checks that the session conditions are met. A session can be cancelled if the minimum attendance or enabled quotas are not reached.

3

First encounter

The system pairs you with someone compatible with the encounter categories selected. Members who have blocked each other are not paired.

4

Timed conversation

You speak privately for the encounter duration configured for the session. A timer shows the remaining time.

5

Transition

When time expires, the encounter ends automatically. A short transition gives you a moment before the next round.

6

New rotation

HeartAtlas automatically builds the following encounters. The same pair is not repeated, and a participant without an available partner may receive a pause round.

7

Session ends

Rotations continue until the programme ends or the session's maximum number of rounds is reached.

⚠️ Important constraints

  • The schedule is synchronised: encounters and transitions follow the common rhythm of the session.
  • An unstable connection or prolonged disconnection can interrupt an encounter. A short reconnection grace period may be provided.
  • Leaving a live session voluntarily may be recorded as an early departure.
  • Respect, consent and HeartAtlas rules apply during every encounter just as they do elsewhere on the platform.
  • Participation in a session never means consent to future contact, a date or a relationship.

After the encounters

At the end of an encounter or session, HeartAtlas may let you express interest privately. When interest is mutual, the result may appear as a match. A non-reciprocal choice is not intended to become pressure or an obligation to communicate. Speed Dating opens a possibility; it never imposes what comes next.

🌟 Make the most of your session

  • Choose a quiet place and remain available for the full scheduled period.
  • Arrive early enough to test your microphone, camera when needed and Internet connection.
  • Introduce yourself naturally and give the other person time to speak.
  • Stay courteous even when there is no chemistry; those few minutes still matter to the other participant.
  • Report or block behaviour that breaches HeartAtlas rules.
08

Activities

HeartAtlas offers group experiences such as Quiz, Connections, Ice Breakers and Declic. Rules and conditions for each activity are shown in their screens and in this guide.

🎮 Starting activities

In Quiz, Connections, Ice Breakers and Declic, every participant confirms “Ready”. As soon as 2 players are ready, a shared 3-minute countdown begins. Entries close for the final 30 seconds. At zero, only ready players take part; everyone else automatically leaves the lounge. If the ready count drops below 2, the countdown is cancelled. A lounge with no game and no start countdown is removed after 15 minutes, with a warning during the final 5 minutes. After a game, players can mark themselves ready to start another one.

🧠 Live Quiz: how a game works

Quizzes take place in public or private Premium rooms. Once a game has started, no new player can join the room. The answer time is defined in the room settings and a countdown shows the time left. When it expires, a configurable short pause automatically precedes the next question. If X players are taking part, the fastest player to give the correct answer earns X points, the second X − 1, the third X − 2, and so on. A wrong answer scores −1 point; no answer scores 0. The cumulative leaderboard is updated after every question. A player who gives no answer to three consecutive questions is removed for inactivity and the other participants are notified. Players are also notified when someone leaves the room. If only one player remains, the game ends. At the end, each participant can choose to stay for another game. The first to accept becomes the room owner; if nobody stays, the room is deleted after the inactivity timeout. HeartAtlas avoids asking a question again in the same room while compatible unseen questions are still available.

Connections

Profiles stay anonymous during the game and are revealed at the end.

Ice Breakers

Ice Breakers have no points: they simply help the group get to know one another and start talking.

Spark

Everyone stays anonymous during the game. Would you like to reveal your profiles to each other?
